The Tribe

The Tribe is a Saudi set television series centered around a group of Jeddah high schoolers who survived a bus crash in the world’s largest uninterrupted desert, Rub Al Khali, The Empty Quarter, and must uncover the dark supernatural secrets of an ancient buried city if they ever hope to go home.

The tone will be similar to that of other popular survival shows such as Lost and Yellowjackets but will delve further into the horror themes and play into local legends and folktales to bring the supernatural elements to life. The show will follow a diverse cast of young adult characters who have to learn to work together to survive or face dying alone.

The Tribe was recently awarded a development grant from Netflix as part of a collaboration with the prestigious MEMI program at USC.
